The KeolisAmey Metrolink (KAM) tram engineering department are responsible for carrying out all planned preventative and corrective maintenance for the M5000 trams and special purpose vehicles, whilst focusing on continuous improvements in terms of the reliability, availability, and safety operations of the trams for the Metrolink network.

The RCM Engineer will report to the Tram Engineering Manager. This role is responsible for managing the tram performance and maintenance regime to ensure cost, reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety targets are set each year within the business plan are achieved.

We are looking for a multi-disciplined reliability engineer with a background within an operational maintenance environment with an excellent working knowledge of either heavy or light rail rolling stock systems with a proven track record of managing and improving asset performance.

Key Accountabilities

As a RCM Engineer at KAM, your key accountabilities will vary, but will include:

  • Assists with the development and implementation of the ISO 55001-compliant Asset Management system and the Tram Whole Life Cycle Model
  • Responsible for managing and developing the Reliability Growth Plan for M5000 trams
  • To ensure acceptable performance measures are met in terms of Reliability, Availability and Safety
  • Monitors adherence to the Standards/Agreements and Advisories notices recommend changes to optimise system performance and Whole Life costs
  • Support investigations into Hazardous and Safety Related Incidents. 
  • Arrange and facilitate RCM improvement workshops
  • Determine the opportunity for to employ Predictive Maintenance
  • Ensuring obsolescence risks are identified and managed.
