The Vacancy
We are currently recruiting reliable, customer-focused, and safety-conscious individuals to join us as drivers of our iconic fleet of Greater Manchester’s trams. You don’t need to have any tram driving experience to apply for this role.

Minimum Requirements
In order to be successful as a Driver for Metrolink there are some minimal requirements that we require you to meet;
This position is deemed a safety critical role. Safety is our number one priority at Metrolink and as such all-safety critical roles are subject pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Your application will be rescinded if you record a positive test. All employees of Metrolink are subject to random drug and alcohol testing as part of their terms and conditions of employment.
Your Development
Metrolink is committed to the professional development of all our colleagues.
As a Driver you will be required to undergo an intense training programme for the first eight weeks of your employment. This will include practical assessments, written exams, and simulator training.
During the initial eight-week course we need full attendance from our new recruits therefore as part of the recruitment process, we will need to understand if you have any prior commitments before starting in role.
Our next course start on 20th September and 1st November; therefore, you will need to be available to start your employment by this date.
Assessment Process
Following your initial application, you will be invited to complete an online psychometric test.
If you are successful at this stage you will be invited to attend an onsite psychometric assessment w/c 4/5/6 September exact date TBC.
If you are successful following this, you will be invited to attend a full Assessment Centre onsite at our Queens Road Depot. The Assessment Centres are scheduled to take place w/c 11th September
