Engineering Store Assistant

Join our team at KeolisAmey Metrolink (KAM), the largest light rail network in the UK!
We are currently recruiting for Stores Assistant to join our Stores team within Manchester’s iconic Metrolink.
As a Stores Assistant:
Key accountabilities will include:
- To assist in deliveries, input and outgoing of components and stores items.
- To be involved in the shipping of goods both UK and Overseas using correct documentation.
- Be familiar with a computerised Stock control and Purchasing system.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of deliveries either mechanically (forklift/pallet truck) or manually.
- Deliver items/stores local and afar using company transport.
- Monitor & Report to Manager any issues with Min/Max stock levels.
- To assist in maintaining the material requirements of the Engineering and Infrastructure departments.
- To act as first point of contact for deliveries and external suppliers.
- Engage and maintain a high level of General Housekeeping in the ‘Stores Area`.
- Be an active member of the Stores department adhering to policies, processes, and procedures.
- Be part of a ‘Rolling Shift Pattern’ and be deployed to either depot location.
What you’ll bring:
- Good level of general education – numerical and written competence.
- Experience in Supply/Stores environment.
- Experience in an operational transport and maintenance environment
- Understanding of risk and safety culture in the workplace within a transport environment.
- Understanding of material/ supply requirements.
- Ability to liaise with suppliers, and KAM staff.
- To motivate peers, team members to deliver the best service.
- Desirable: Continuing professional development through membership of an appropriate professional association.
