We currently have an exciting opportunity. We are currently recruiting for Reliability Centred Maintenance Engineer to join our Rolling Stock, Engineering team within Manchester’s iconic Metrolink.

As a Reliability Centred Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation of the optimised maintenance plan across the fleet and to continuously improve and optimise processes and procedures.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Assists with the development and implementation of the ISO 55001-compliant Asset Management system and the Tram Whole Life Cycle Model
  • Responsible for managing and developing the Reliability Growth Plan for M5000 trams.
  • To ensure acceptable performance measures are met in terms of Reliability, Availability and Safety
  • Monitors adherence to the Standards/Agreements and Advisories notices recommend changes to optimise system performance and Whole Life costs.
  • Support investigations into Hazardous and Safety Related Incidents.
  • Arrange and facilitate RCM improvement workshops.
  • Determine the opportunity to employ Predictive Maintenance for a variety of tasks.
  • Ensuring obsolescence risks are identified and managed.
  • Continuously improve processes, procedures and working practises related to rolling stock.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Candidates will be qualified to a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of professional experience in at least one of the following engineering disciplines:
    • Mechanical
    • Electrical Electronic 
    • Electro – Mechanical
    • Railway Engineering – Rolling Stock
  • Previous experience in Rolling Stock Maintenance and/ or Engineering experience.
  • A member of a recognised engineering institute
  • Rail experience (light rail preferred).
  • Knowledge of EN50126
  • Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance (Technical Standard SAE JA1011)
  • Good working knowledge of safety and reliability methodologies such as Past Failure Analysis, FMECA, Fault & Event Trees, HAZOP and QRA
  • Experience of leading complex technical projects
  • Knowledge of materials & obsolescence management - advantageous
