Digital Signalling & Telecommunication (DS&T) Technician

The Vacancy
Join our team at KeolisAmey Metrolink (KAM), the largest light rail network in the UK!
We are currently recruiting for a Digital Signalling & Telecommunication (DS&T) Technician to join our Rail Infrastructure Team within Manchester’s iconic Metrolink.
As a DS&T Technician, you will support the delivery of the KAM maintenance plan by carrying out the first line maintenance, fault finding and rectification on the DS&T equipment of the Metrolink system in a safe and cost-effective manner.
What you’ll be doing
- Carry out inspection, testing, repairing and replacement of key systems and equipment as directed by the DS&T Team Leader.
- Follow the relevant policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure work is delivered safely and in line with standards set.
- Escalate and report safety concerns to the Senior DS&T Technician where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with teams to building an inclusive and supportive environment, in line with KAM’s FREDIE (fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement) culture.
What we need from you
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of DS&T systems and equipment e.g. Transmission and Telecommunication Systems, Radio systems, CCTV
- Minimum level 2 ONC/equivalent Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience of maintenance and faulting support in a large multidisciplined organisation
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must hold a full driving license.
